Retail Theraphy vol 41: The Colour Of Love

Love has no color but this volume will warm your heart. Gregg Karukas' "Blue Touch" starts things off very nice. ConFunkShun gets warmer with "I'll Set You Out O. K."  But then Nelson Rangell  completely melts things with my favorite jazz song, "Grace".   Mary J Blige, Rome, Phil Collins, Chicago and Chris De Burgh make this a very nice journey.

Retail Theraphy vol 42: New York City

Welcome to the city of all cites.  "Arthur's Theme" by David Benoit brings you into the city, but "L. I. E." will put you on the expressway with N'Dambi. The great George Benson, Digable Planets, Russ Freeman, Billy Joel, and Carlos Santana keep it moving. The icing is truly Will Downing's "Brooklyn Breezes".

Retail Theraphy vol 43: Night Moods

Night time is the right time, so I had to find a place to put all my really romantic cuts.  Of course when I think romantic it has to start with Pamela Williams' version of "Say Yes". 'Prince, Maysa, Christion, Phil Perry, Chaka Khan, and of course Kem.  'N'Dambi's "Ooo Baby" was the inspiration.

Retail Theraphy vol 44: Think: Tribute To Pres. Barack Hussein Obama

This is a tribute to the Beauty that is this Man! Yes, this was the greatest thing to ever happen to the world, but it is the Man who made it happen that is wordless. Curtis Mayfield “Think” personifies the way He wants us to live. Usher & Sen. Obama give us the absolute truth in “Hush”. Sade says it in “Immigrant”: 'He was such a dignified child”. Rick Braun's “Notorious” speaks of how some will see Him, while Wendy Moton gives us an absolutely beautiful heart sinking “People Got To Be Free”. Jason Miles brings a very nice “What's Going On”, while “Strength In You”, Gerald Albright & Kirk Whalum, is the burden He bears. Maze comes in with the most important message of this campaign “We Are One”, while the great Stevie Wonder reminds us of the importance of “These Three Words”. Now here comes Malcom X and Wayman Tisdale lifting our spirits with “Ain't No Stoppin Us Now MX”, followed by an absolutely lovely“People Get Ready”, Alicia Keys & Lyfe Jennings. Seal lets us know that eventually “A Change Is Going To Come”, while Grover Washington Jr lets us feel those “Inner City Blues”. Let us not forget that everything we do affects the world; “We Are The World”. John Lennon lets us know that we must live in Peace in “Imagine”. Dr. ML King reminds us of years of struggle, together with the great Bob Marley and The Wailers in “Redemption Song MX”.....this Beautiful journey begins!

Retail Theraphy vol 46: Tru Luv

I have to say this volume turned out to be a creative journey for me. Cutting Crew was the inspiration with the truest words ever said in "I've Been In Love Before".  Wendy Moten & Jennifer Hudson give me chills with back to back heartfelt songs, "So Close To love" & "Giving Myself".  Chicago, Anthony Hamilton, and Nelson Rangell's "Nana's Song" showcase the ups and downs of Love.

 Retail Theraphy vol 50: Cherish

That Sound...the surf...the sun...the sand...and such an innocent way of life...George Benson so nicely starts this off with the beautiful "Being With You"; and of course The Association takes us back to that time with the title track.   Richard Elliott "One Last Kiss" is simply a wonderful way to feel this flow,  while "God Only Knows" (Big Love Theme) is The Beach Boys' heartfelt contribution.  Vincent Ingala "Lost In You" is truly beautiful, while The Walker Brothers steal the big sound with the heart throbbing "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore".  "Nights To Remember" by Peter Pearson is so smooth...Again The Association with the ever so pretty "Never My Love".  Dancing Fantasy calms the water with the beautiful "Close To You",  followed by The Left Banke "Walk Away Renee".....Listen to that ocean surf and then let Santo  & Johnny take you on a "Sleep Walk";  followed by the simply very beautiful "Crystal Blue Persuasion", Tommy James & The Shondells.  Michael E brings in the overwhelmingly lovely "Waiting For Yesterday", as EL40 brings in that very nice beach sound with "Surfer Girl".

Retail Theraphy vol 51: UnLady Like

A Dedication to the Ladies who speak their mind! Donald Byrd helps me set the mood with the Anti-Women's Lib song "Woman Of The World" (surprised he was still alive after this song... LOL).  Erykah Badu smooths right in with the 'had enough song' "Call Tyrone". Vivian Green, Sharissa, En Vogue, and N'Dambi tell you what's on their minds. Afterwards, Chaka Khan sings on healing with "Roll Me Through The Rushes".

Retail Theraphy vol 52: Heart Out Of Sight

James Taylor forced me to do this volume with the motivational "If I Keep My Heart Out Of Sight".  Warren Hill kills the start off with "Tell Me All Your Secrets" and Nelson Rangell brings the curtains down with "I Can't Make You Love Me".  Kem, David Sanborn, Montell Jordan, Fourplay, and Teddy Pendergrass keep me listening to this volume often.

Retail Theraphy vol 55: Against The Wind

Simply for the struggle of everyday Life.  Lori Perri "Up Against The Wind" is the inspiration, but Emily King's message for the abused uplifts in "You Can Get By".  Randy Crawford, Leona Lewis, Yolanda Adams, and Will Downing.  Tower Of Power pulls through with what I feel should be the National Thanksgiving Day song, "Doin' Alright".

 Retail Theraphy vol 58: Free

What can I say?  Free will set you free.  Corinne Bailey Rae does an absolutely awesome job with a remake of the title track.  The Commodores keep it going with "Zoom", and The Ohio Players demand it with "I Want To Be Free".  Peter White, Kem, Fourplay, Warren Hill and Dave Hollister make this a very nice volume.

Retail Theraphy vol 59: Inn Love

With this compilation I reached back to the  Love Ballads of my time to showcase some of the greatest of all time.  Brownstone leads the way with "Five Miles To Empty" and then comes "Fire and Desire", "Always and Forever", and the seductive Keith Sweat. That together with some jazz that will have you sliding under the sheets.

Retail Theraphy vol 60: The Seduction

James Last did it, but David Sanborn takes the title track over the top and sets the stage for a very seductive volume.  Chaka Khan's "Night Moods" keeps things going, while Cassandra Wilson's "Closer To You" brings in one of the most seductive songs I've ever heard.  TLC, 112, Meshell Ndege'ocello, and Ready For The World will have you ready. mmm.
